Bookings & Attendance
When a booking is made, your seat is reserved in the class for the specific time, date, and session booked. Please ensure you can attend, as we do not offer make-up sessions for missed classes for any reason. However, in exceptional cases such as serious illness or emergencies, we may offer a make-up session at our discretion. Please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your situation.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Cancellations made 14+ days before the start of the class: You are eligible for a refund minus a 5% administration fee for processing and re-sale.
Credit Note Option: If you prefer, you may receive a 100% credit note or gift card instead of a refund. Gift cards are valid for 2 years.
Cancellations made within 14 days of the class start date: No refund, cancellation, or credit will be provided. However, you are welcome to transfer your seat to a friend. Please notify us in advance if someone else will be attending your place.
Class Changes & Studio Rights
Please book carefully. Once a booking is made, no changes to class dates or times will be permitted.
Dirthouse Ceramics reserves the right to refuse refunds at any time if deemed unreasonable.
If a course or class is cancelled by us, you will receive a full refund or credit.
We reserve the right to alter any class arrangements before or during the course, cancel or terminate a class, or refuse enrolment as permitted by law.
Payment & Enrolment
Enrolment is not complete until full payment has been made. Course places will not be reserved without full payment.
Enrolment is not transferable once booked.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are considered cash and may be used toward any classes or products offered at Dirthouse Ceramics.
Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Gift cards expire 2 years from the purchase date.
By booking a class with Dirthouse Ceramics, you agree to these terms and conditions. Please reach out if you have any questions before making a booking.
Members Terms and Conditions
Our memberships are designed to create a respectful, creative community space. These terms help keep the studio enjoyable for everyone.
Eligibility
Membership is only available to students who have completed a Dirthouse four or six-week course (or equivalent experience approved by the studio).
Members must be able to work independently without supervision.
Membership Payments
Memberships are billed on the 1st of each month.
A minimum 3-month commitment applies to all new memberships.
After the minimum period, memberships continue month-to-month unless cancelled.
Membership fees are non-refundable once charged.
Cancellation Policy
After the minimum commitment period, memberships may be cancelled with 14 days written notice before the next billing date.
No partial refunds are given for unused time.
If payment fails, membership access will be paused until payment is received.
Studio Access & Bookings
Members must book studio sessions through the booking system.
Bookings are subject to availability and capacity limits.
Members may hold a maximum number of two bookings per week.
Missed bookings may not be rescheduled or credited.
Studio Use Expectations
Members agree to:
Clean their workspace thoroughly after each session
Leave shared tools and equipment clean and ready for the next user
Respect shared space and other members
Follow all studio safety instructions
Failure to follow studio expectations may result in suspension or termination of membership.
Materials & Firing
Firing is charged separately:
Bisque: $10/kg
Glaze: $12/kg
Work must be clearly labelled with name and date.
Unclaimed work may be discarded after a reasonable holding period.
Storage
Members may be allocated a storage shelf or space.
Storage is limited and must be kept organised.
Dirthouse reserves the right to clear shelves of abandoned or unlabelled work.
Kiln & Firing Disclaimer
While every care is taken during firing:
Dirthouse is not responsible for cracking, breakage, glaze faults, kiln accidents, or unforeseen firing outcomes.
Ceramics is an unpredictable process and results cannot be guaranteed.
Membership Conduct
Dirthouse reserves the right to suspend or cancel a membership immediately if a member:
Damages equipment or studio property
Behaves in a disruptive or unsafe manner
Repeatedly fails to follow studio rules
No refunds will be issued in these circumstances.
Changes to Membership Terms
Dirthouse may update membership terms, pricing, or access hours at any time. Members will be notified of any changes in advance.
